ASSOCIATIONS
 | The Bengal of today was first recognized by The International Cat
Association (TICA) for registration in 1983 and Championship in 1991.
 | In 1991, the brown spotted tabby (leopard colored) Bengals were accepted
for TICA Championship competition.
 | In May of 1994 the marble pattern and the colors, lynx point and sepia,
joined the traditional brown spotted tabbies in the TICA championship
classes. Only Bengals with a three generation pedigree of domestic/Asian
Leopard Cat hybrid breeding are eligible to compete for TICA championship
titles.
 | In 1993, The Cat Fanciers' Federation (CFA) accepted fouth generation
Bengals in the Experimental Division.
 | In 1995, the newly formed United Feline Organization (UFO) accepted
Bengals for championship under the same basic standard.
 | In August of 1997, the American Cat Fanciers Association (ACFA) accepted
Bengals for New Breed and Color 1997 and in championship 1998 |
